Congressman Ruben Hinojosa Announces HUD Grant Awarded to McAllen Housing Authority for Homeless Veterans

Congressman Rubén Hinojosa announced the McAllen Housing Authority was awarded $40,138 by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) to assist homeless valley military veterans, and their families, find and pay for existing housing with tenant-based vouchers.

"We owe a great deal to our returning veterans especially when it comes to making sure that they, and their families, have a comfortable place to call home," said Rep. Hinojosa. "For some veterans, returning home can be a very difficult process, and finding an affordable place to live can be one of the most difficult tasks. This program is designed to help our veterans in need."

Each veteran who receives a voucher will also receive various supportive services provided by the Veteran's Administration.
